0740 – Prohibiting Signs Hwy 71

ORDINANCE 740 

AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE ERECTIONANDMAINTENANCE OF BILLBOARDS, ADVERTISING SIGNSANDDEVISES, WARNING SIGNSANDINFORMATION SIGNS WITHIN THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY OF RELOCATED STATE HIGHWAY 71ANDREPEALINGALLPRIOR INCONSISTENT ORDINANCES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Rich Hill, Missouri, as follows:

            Section 1.  That no person, firm, association or corporation shall erect or maintain any billboard, advertising sign or device, warning sign or device, or information sign or device within the limits of the right of way for relocated State Highway 71 within the city limits, except such signs or devices as may be erected or specifically authorized by the State Highway Commission of Missouri.

            Section 2.  Any person firm, association or corporation who violates this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not exceeding $100.00

            Section 3.  Each day that any sign or device prohibited by this ordinance is maintained shall be considered a separate offense.

            Section 4.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances which are in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.

            Section 5.  This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
