Rich Hill is known as the “town that coal built” and is also known for being “Famous for the 4th” of July celebration.

Rich Hill is located an hour south of Kansas City, Missouri on highway 71 and 1 1/2 hours north of Joplin, Missouri.  Rich Hill has a population of approximately 1300.

The Big Mouth!  The Big Mouth resides on Park Ave and 7th St in Rich Hill.  The Big Mouth is a coal bucket that was used to mine coal in this area.  Visitors may stop by and take pictures and read about the history of the Big Mouth for free.
