AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE LICENSE OR DRIVING PRIVILEGE IS CANCELED, SUSPENDDED OR REVOKED, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES THEREFO
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMAN OF THE CITY OF RICH HILL, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle upon any public thoroughfare within the limits of the City of Rich Hill while the license or driving privilege of such person has been canceled, suspended or revoked pursuant to the laws of the State of Missouri, if such person acts with criminal negligence or a higher degree of culpability with respect to knowledge of the fact that his or her driving privilege has been canceled, suspended or revoked.
SECTION 2: Any person found guilty of violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $500.00 and/or imprisonment in the city jail for a term not to exceed thirty (30) days.
SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are herby repealed.
SECTION 4: The invalidity of any section, clause, sentence or provision of this ordinance shall not affect the validity of any part of this ordinance, which can be given effect without such invalid part or parts.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
